Kelso Racecourse is an amazing horse racing venue that is located in the toen of Kelso, Scotland. Its course is a national hunt racing whereby horses are required to jump ditches and fences. Kelso has two sharp, left-handed tracks with a 1 mile 600 yard chase track and a 1 mile 330 yards hurdles course the course has an uphill run in of 2 furlong. Races are mainly divided into two branches that is hurdles where horses jump over obstacles refereed to as hurdles and steeplechase where obstacles may include fences, water jumps or open ditches.

Races usually take place between September to May. This is a fantastic venue as spectators are able to feel the country side life and also have a taste of life in Kelso town. Many people in Britain refer to it as Britain friendliest course, this give you an idea of how beautiful and famous the place is. Though the the course was designed in 1778 the foundation stone was laid in 1882. The design has not been changed much since and there is also a private members viewing are that was designed back in the days for patrons. the race course has also a very rich history. Its mosts notable race is the premier Kelso race which is a grade two national hurdle race in Scotland and its open to horses that are four years and older.

Tickets are available on the match day but also one can book a ticket by making a telephone call. They have special ticket prices for members, children under 17 years are admitted free and also there are special treats for elderly citizens who are above 60 years of age and students under 21 years.

A normal horse race meeting consists of seven races which vary inn length and in number of runners. for beginners there is an interesting package offered by the racecourse ” TOTO PUNTERS PACKAGE” that consists of Race card, Paddock admission, a food and drinks voucher and a Tote betting voucher.
