Doncaster Racecourse

Introduction

Doncaster Racecourse is a left-handed course that hosts both flat and National Hunt races owned by Arena Leisure and located in Doncaster, South Yorkshire. It is one of the oldest and largest based on its physical capacity racecourses in the whole of Britain. The racecourse started hosting races as early as the 16th century. There was an attempt to put an end to the racing in 1600 informed by the number of ruffians the course attracted, but these efforts failed. Ruffian influences were however neutralized over time saving the reputation of the racecourse.
